Church Life

A Worship Lifestyle...

At SSBC, we have diferent activities that run throughout the week, the climax being a Worship Service on Sunday mornings. The pastor, leadership team, and the congregation at South Street serve the needs of the people within and around the church community, and even globally - to TRANSFORM lives, EQUIP people, and to GROW BIG - together. Such as these efforts are:

  1. The weekly teaching of the Word of God and daily worship lifestyle.
  2. Seeking to reach and introduce new people into the family of God through active Evangelism and Street Action.
  3. Wednesday mornings' 'Smiley Toast' (the coffee morning - with a smile;)
  4. The yearly Vacational Bible School (VBS) that the Church understakes with our American partners (Salvation Ministries). This is a week-long Children's holiday club for 5-14 year olds. >>Read more>>
  5. Leadership Training and equiping of all (new/ongoing) leaders into the responsibilities and duties of ministry and care.
  6. Urgent calls for prayers for our community through prayer and fasting, and prayer walking.
  7. The Pastor's international missions to Africa to teach and equip leaders in the faith to minister God's grace to the local people.
  8. The Pastoral Care Team - this is a team trained and equiped by the Pastor and the Church to reach out alongside the Pastor to care for the people that God cares about. Reach out to them for visits, prayer and ministry.

A Call to Share

In sharing the love of Christ with others, we ought to welcome and experience the free love of God for us; through Christ Jesus.

Please call this week, especially the new members and those you haven't seen on a Sunday or weekday service to check on them and fellowship. Christ cares, and so should we.

Also, as Jesus' will that He left us before His death, He commissioned us to seek new souls and introduce them to the redeeming love and everlasting hope in Christ. Let us boldly embrace the task of reaching out to share the much needed love of God to a depraved, ailing and secular society around us. Let us love the things Jesus loves, hate the things He hates, and care for especially unbelievers for whom He loved insomuch to come and die for them. Don't you think they are worth the truth of the Gospel, and its salvation as well?

Invite an unchurched friend and/or family today.

The Heart of Jesus

The heart of God is all sumed up in the heart and life of Jesus. This world moved God to the extent of sending His precious Son to save us, we really must mean something to Him! This is an amazing love, lfe-transforming!

At South Street Church, we take seriously the will that the Father wrote concerning His Son, Jesus - our Saviour. And in taking this will seriously, South Street is increasing efforts to do just what is in the heart of God; to reach out to the unchurched with the love of Jesus. This was Jesus' last words, to "...go forth and make disciples, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit...' This will helps us to preach a practical Gospel of caring for what God cares about; t reach out to the unchurched, loving the lonely, unlovable and misunderstood, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and letting the Children come to Jesus.

Jesus cares, and so do we.
