Pedestrian approaches

SSBC is not in control of the public walkways outside its buildings but fortunately potential obstacles (trees, parking meters and bins), where they exist, are evenly spaced and in straight rows on the outside of pavements.

Public transport

  • Tube and DLR and National Rail: The nearest tube stations - New Cross (East London line), Greenwich, Deptford Bridge (DLR), and Greenwich Station (National Rail) - are all approximately half a mile away from SSBC.
  • Bus routes: Greenwich South Street is well served by bus services - Buses 386, 199, 180 - and nearby Blackheath Hill (bus 53) and Greenwich High Road (bus 177). Most Transport for London buses are disability friendly.
  • Freedom Pass: Some visitors with disabilities living within the London region may be eligible for a Freedom Pass, which permits free travel on public transport, and you may like to discuss your entitlement with your local authority.
  • Taxi from SSBC: While at SSBC, visitors can ask an usher or leader in the office to arrange for a taxi to travel home. Greenwich Borough is also a participating borough in the London Taxicard scheme for disabled users - of which you may be entitled.
